WINTER/SPRING HIGHLIGHTS

So, what have we been up to since Christmas? Lots. Where to start...
Most of the family came home after Christmas so we had our annual "String Game" at Nana's. We did change things up a bit this year and had Italian food instead of Chinese.

In January we went to "Welcome to Kindergarten" night at the school. It went quite well. The first activity was cutting, which is a favorite pastime, so that was a good one to start with.

THEY MADE THEIR CROWNS

We went to Harbour Station in February for a Timbit Hockey day. The best part was, of course, the actual timbits. It was very crowded and confusing but the littles were great at being patient. They all got a medal afterward.

We didn't get anywhere on March break this year. Between lots of sickness and Sherman fishing, things didn't work out. Brady was home though, and we celebrated his birthday.

My parents celebrated their 45th anniversary and mum's 65th birthday by taking our family and my brother's family away for the weekend. We had a great time together. There was swimming, eating and some shopping and it was a wonderful weekend.

Easter was fun. They couldn't have the annual egg hunt here because of the outlandish amount of snow in the park, so it was postponed. We had fun with family though. Everyone helped make cookies and dye eggs at Nana's house. There was lots of good food and Easter Bunny stuff and it was a really nice weekend.

On the long weekend in May they had the annual Grand Manan Easter Egg Hunt. It was a lovely day. There were lots of families out for it and the 10 000 eggs were grabbed up before they melted. Better late than never.

Today, June 3, was "A Day At Kindergarten" for the pre-K kids.  He wasn't overly excited about it but he was excited about the whole lunchkit thing and we got some special things to put in it. He was happy about going to school with me though, instead of the Club for a change. We got to hang out for an hour before the other kids arrived (thanks to my great supervisors!) in my room and that was pretty fun.
The day went well. I checked in three times and he didn't really want me to leave each time but was really fine. He got to ride on a bus, play on the playground and eat in the cafeteria. Lots of big things for a little boy. Then after my mum picked him up, he got to ride in and help control a backhoe operated by the road crew. It was a pretty good day!
